Today we visited our local Fire Department #5 and the kids had a great time. Julie organized the event and we took 14 kids and 7 adults. It was our playgroup kids that get together on Wednesdays plus a couple other friends. Everyone arrived at our place and we walked the three blocks over to the fire station.
The tour began with a look at the green fire engine and the grasslands fire truck. As soon as some of the kids walked into the room there were a lot of
WOW's and smiles.

The fireman took all the kids into the big red fire engine. He showed them some of the equipment that they use.

Then the fire lady demonstrated how they get dressed and what they wear. She showed them how they look when they enter a building and not to be scared.

Then the kids were able to go through a mock home in a trailer. They had to crawl on their hands and knees to escape out the back window. Then the fire lady helped them out. Here is Brooke coming out of the trailer.

All kids like lights! They opened up the garage and on went all the fire engine lights.

It was a great morning and the kids loved it. While leaving the fire department the fireman gave all the kids stickers and a Halloween goody bag. Thanks again Julie for setting it up..

Fun times...Brookie was a trooper. First one to jump right in and crawl through the house. You go Brooke.
